Scots Unleash Offensive Firepower over Beavers
BATESVILLE, AR– The Blackburn Women’s Basketball team were on the road for their matchup vs the Scots of Lyon College. The Beavers fell to the Scots, 101-54.
BATESVILLE, AR– The Blackburn Women's Basketball team were on the road for their matchup vs the Scots of Lyon College. The Beavers fell to the Scots, 101-54.
Junior Caidy Tuetken and sophomore Amya Harris led the Beavers with 15 and 14 points. Sophomore Ella Wilson led the women down in the paint with 11 rebounds and Tuetken added 7.
The Scots were aggressive early as they came out with a 4 point lead. Harris with a layup to start the Beavers off. A fast break by freshman Miya Means assisted sophomore Gracie Jent as she put up a 3 pointer, to decrease the Scots lead to under double digits. Tuetken sank two free throws to bring them within 7 points of Lyon going into the second quarter. Wilson with 4 points to jump start the second quarter. Harris with a 3 pointer and sophomore Kenadee Frey with an up and under to help the Beavers but the Scots develop a strong lead as they go into the half.
Out of the half, Tuetken with an and one followed by a jump shot by Wilson. Harris with the layup to keep Blackburn competing with Lyon. Tuetken with a put back and Harris with yet another three pointer. The Scots maintained the lead with a big second half,defeating the Beavers 101-54.
The Beavers are back in Carlinville tomorrow facing off with the Gorloks of Webster.
