Bridget Monahgan - Women's Basketball

Sophomore faceoff specialist AJ Perkell (Valley Stream, N.Y./Hewlett) and junior attacker Erin Reich (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) of The University of Scranton men's & women's lacrosse teams were named Landmark Tournament MVPs and earned Scranton Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending May 7, 2023.

This marks the first career Scranton Athlete of the Week selection for both student-athletes.

Perkell notched 11 faceoff wins against the conference's defensive player of the year in ETown's Jacob Griffin as the Royals rallied past the Blue Jays for a 13-12 victory in the Landmark title game and the second Landmark title in program history.

For Reich, the Rockville Centre, N.Y., native scored a career-high eight goals in the 17-10 title game victory over Catholic. Her eight goals were the most in a game by a Scranton player since 2018 and she also reached the 100 career point milestone during the win as the Royals captured the first Landmark title in program history.
