Track & Field Competes at 2025 Outdoor SLIAC Championships

Greenville, Ill. – The Blackburn College Track & Field team capped off a strong year of growth at the 2025 SLIAC Outdoor Championships, competing across a full slate of sprint, distance, and field events under sunny skies at Greenville University.
The Beavers posted multiple personal bests, set school records, and continued building the foundation for a competitive program heading into future seasons. The men's team finished with 10 points, the most for Blackburn in SLIAC history.
Men's Highlights:

Kobe Patton capped off a breakout year, setting personal bests in both the 100m (12.03) and 200m (25.23).

Byron McNeil sprinted to a PR in the 200m (24.37) and placed 4th overall in the triple jump with a mark of 13.14m.

Jaydon Hausman made strong contributions in the 200m, and 400m.

Landan Tribble and Julio Palma continued their progression with personal bests in the 200m and 400m respectively, helping solidify the Beavers' sprint squad.

Collyn Oberkfell posted a major PR and school record in the 800m with a time of 2:07.03.

Sam Burrows placed 7th in the 1500m, leading the Beavers' distance crew with a time of 4:30.88.

Scotty Cuff competed in the 800m and 1500m, showing some depth in Blackburn's growing distance squad.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Byron McNeil, Sam Burrows, Landan Tribble, and Collyn Oberkfell closed the meet strong, running 3:45.24.

The men also debuted a 4x100m relay team, setting a school record of 48.04.
Women's Highlights:

Gracie Jent continued her debut season, competing in the 1500m and notching a season-best for 9th place.

Michaela Moulton threw a personal best in shot put, setting a new school record at 7.56m and also competed in discus.

Olivia Hamman led in the discus throw with 19.62m, continuing her steady improvement this spring. She also threw the shot put.
The Beavers will compete in their final meet of the season at the Monmouth College Fighting Scots Invite on Saturday, May 3, as they look to close out the outdoor campaign with more strong performances.
